January 7th
After a spectacular sunset last night, it turned out a hot and glorious day today. It was so glorious in fact, that our quiet beach was beginning to get crowded like Bondi Beach already around ten o'clock.
I then had to leave the dogs at home - it would have been too hot in the car for them - to go and see an ear, nose, throat specialist about the results of a cat scan.
It turns out, I do have a very real sinus problem, not something I imagined, as has been insinuated by various GPs and dentists in the past.
In fact, I had to put up quite a fight to get the referral for this one. Oh how I wish I was back in Switzerland where you open the phone book and choose the specialist your body tells you to see.
I'm very glad I stood up for myself. Something is going to get fixed at last. The horrible pictures left me somewhat subdued.

January 6th
The most positive thing that happened today was a phone call from the removalist promising me my container full of possessions for Wednesday next week.
There will be jubilation when it finally happens.

The tide was very low when we went for our walks today. Walking right out and looking back gave me a rather different perspective of the bay.
Teepee was not quite sure about this.
"There's water between us, mum", she said worriedly, but after a bit of hesitation she braved the element and came out to see me.
But she did carefully pick her way back without getting her feet wet.
Cameo was not worried at all. He knows mum always comes back.

The big purchase of the day:
And here it is, all set up and ready to go.
My garden will be jumping out of it's skin soon.
I know, I'm a big kid at heart :-)
As from now, I'm not just feeding pets and possums, but worms as well.

A lovely summer's day today, nowhere near as hot as yesterday, and therefore the beach nearly deserted even around lunchtime.
At home, I found some little treasures in the garden, while going round doing some much needed weeding.
Now, I'm in desperate need of a well earned rest.

January 3rd
Went to the beach quite early again, but plenty of other people had the same idea and turned up complete with tents and kitchen sinks. It was already quite warm and went on to go to 33 degrees C.
I closed all the windows to keep the house reasonable cool, but baking a bread didn't help to keep it so.
Having run out of rye flour, I made a bread with quinoa flour which turned out quite nice.

Before it got too hot, I harvested my broad beans.
Guess what was for dinner tonight?

January 2nd, 2015
It is a glorious day today, and very warm too. To beat the heat and the hordes, the dogs and I went out early for some walking on a bush track, a cliff track and on two beaches.
